Fall into Prayer: What´s Coming Down in Tres Cantos
The leaves are just beginning to fall here in
1) Tim began a series of teachings the book of Galatians last
Sunday. After 1 Samuel and 2 Peter we are now delving into the true nature
of the gospel and spiritual freedom to facilitate a check-up of the
spiritual state of each person in our church before we move toward
organizing legally . . . Pray for our local church leadership: Brigitte has
tremendous family demands on her right now; José Antonio is working hard on
finding employment.
2) We are co-teaching a parenting class that started September 26. Pray that
these parents will find unity in their parenting, that they will understand
shepherding their children´s hearts, and that they will sense their need for
the Good Shepherd.
3) We need wisdom and physical strength in balancing our time with
family, teaching and ministry. Marilyn is gearing up for girls club again
and ongoing discipleship with key women. She is coordinating kids
ministries with Melanie Wendel.
Tim is preparing for a hermeneutics class that he has been asked to teach
next semester at the national Baptist seminary, where five
4) Pray for Katey as she is seeking God´s direction in her first classes on
how to pursue biology purposefully at Calvin. Pray that she will develop
solid friendships and establish good study habits within the wonderful world
of college life. Katey needs a good work-study job in order to pay for her
part of school.
5) Pray for our younger two. We are thankful for the time to invest we have
left to invest in them. They are both attending the same school this year so
pray for a deep relationship as they commute together to and from
6) Pray for our parents: Jack, Marilyn´s father, is 85 and holding. His
Parkinson´s has gradually limited his movement but he maintains his lucidity
and sense of humor. My mother Marlene is 75 and doing well after her knee
replacement surgery last year. She doesn´t stop! (Just got back from two
weeks helping Mark and Haywon, who has a broken ankle!)
7) We thank God for the recent team retreat that we took with the Wendels
and Pinedas. Pray as we maintain our unity in the bond of peace. Our
teamwork is excellent and we want it to stay that way!
